Job description / details: Rochester Area Lacrosse is looking for a head coach for its summer 18U girls program. Our 18U team participates in MSLAX. Head coach would be responsible for practices and games.
The Rochester Area Lacrosse Association (RALAX) seeks a passionate, experienced Head Coach for the 18U Girls competitive travel team. This leadership role focuses on elite skills development, strategic gameplay, and fostering a positive team culture. The Head Coach designs training programs and leads the team through local and regional tournament schedules.
Key Responsibilities Player Development: Design and execute advanced, high-tempo practices targeting stick work, tactical positioning, and physical conditioning. Game Management: Formulate competitive game strategies, make real-time in-game adjustments, and manage playtime distribution.
Leadership & Culture: Cultivate a supportive, disciplined team environment emphasizing sportsmanship, accountability, and mental toughness. Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, players, and the RALAX board regarding schedules, expectations, and feedback.
Safety & Logistics: Ensure player safety during all activities, manage team equipment, and coordinate tournament arrival logistics.
Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
Background: Prior competitive lacrosse playing experience is highly preferred.
Certifications: Valid USA Lacrosse coach membership, current CPR/First Aid certification, and successful completion of a mandatory background check.
Skills: Deep knowledge of modern women's lacrosse rules, field strategies, and goalie mechanics.
Availability: Must commit to 2 weekday evening practices and weekend tournaments throughout the summer
